Easy Homemade Chicken Satay
Chicken satay is an easy-to-make dish that originates from Southeast Asia. The flavorful marinated chicken is grilled to perfection, then served with a rich and creamy peanut sauce. This recipe is perfect for a quick satisfying weeknight dinner or an appetizer for gathering.
Ingredients
- 450 g boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into thin strips
- 2 tbls vegetable oil
- 2 tbls soy sauce

- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1⁄2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions
In a mixing bowl, combine vegetable oil, soy sauce, honey, lime juice, minced garlic, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric powder, and cayenne pepper to make a marinade.
Add the chicken strips to the marinade and toss to coat. Allow the chicken to marinate at least 15 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator for a more intense flavor.
Preheat your grill over medium-high heat.
Thread the marinated chicken strips onto soaked skewers. Make sure to leave some space between each piece to ensure even cooking.
Grill the chicken skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Be careful not to overcook, as this may result in dry chicken.
Once the chicken is done, remove from the grill and move to a serving dish. Serve the chicken satay with thhomemade peanut sauce on the side for dipping. It pairs well with steamed rice.
