Directions
Be sure to use natural yoghurt, without added sugar or flavors, this is essential to get the authentic flavor of the yoghurt kebab sauce.
In a bowl, mix the yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper.
Cooking Tip: The lemon juice should be fresh, not bottled, as the latter can give an artificial flavor.
Peel the cucumber, then grate it. Remember to squeeze all the excess water out of the grated cucumber before adding it to the yoghurt. This will ensure that the sauce is not diluted.
Cooking Tip: To squeeze the cucumber, you can use a gauze or a clean cloth.
Add the cucumber and pressed garlic to the yogurt mixture.
Add the fresh dill and stir until the ingredients are fully combined.
Tip to add flavor: You can add a little bit of sweet or hot paprika to the sauce. It will give it an extra delicious touch.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow the sauce to rest in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
