Easy Authentic Satay Peanut Sauce
Satay sauce, also known as peanut sauce, is a sweet-savory, spicy condiment commonly used in Asian and Indonesian cuisine. Its primary base are peanuts ground into a paste. This particular version of satay sauce is simple to make and full of flavor, making it a beloved dipping sauce for grilled meat, marinade, or even a salad dressing.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup of unsalted dry roasted peanuts
- 1⁄4 Cup of coconut milk
- 2 tbls of soy sauce
- 2 tbls of honey
- 1 tablespoon of lime juice
- 1 tablespoon of chili paste (optional)
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- A pinch of salt

Directions
In a food processor or blender, combine the peanuts, coconut milk, soy sauce, honey, lime juice, chili paste (if desired), minced garlic, and a pinch of salt.
Blend or process until the mixture is smooth and well-combined. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit more coconut milk or some warm water.
Taste the sauce, and adjust the seasonings to your liking, adding more salt, honey or chili paste if needed.
Once the texture and flavor are to your liking, your satay sauce is ready to serve! Keep it refrigerated in a tightly sealed container for up to one week.
