- 4 slices bread

- 115 g cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1⁄2 spoon vanilla essence
- icing sugar
- chocolate sauce

Beat the sugar, vanilla extract, and cream cheese together until smooth. Place it in the fridge until using it.

In a mixing bowl whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder until smooth. Add in the food colouring, until obtaining a vibrant red colour, and mix well.

Transfer into a bowl and dip the bread in, one piece at a time, ensuring both sides are covered in batter.

Heat a large frying pan over medium heat and lubricate well. Then, add the bread and fry for 2 minutes on each side, until it is just cooked.
