Directions
First, prepare the meat mixture for the balls. Mix the minced meat with salt, pepper and flour. Add also finely chopped onion and garlic cloves, which I have previously pressed.
Pour the egg into the mixture and mix everything thoroughly. Shape the finished mixture into balls that you want to be similar in size so that they bake evenly.
Place the meatballs in the hot oil and fry them on both sides until golden brown. Then remove them and let them rest on a plate with kitchen paper to absorb any excess fat.
In the same pan where the balls were toasted, add chopped tomatoes, tomato concentrate, sugar and salt and pepper to taste. Add the chopped parsley.
Let the sauce bubble on low heat for about 15 minutes. Then add back the meatballs and let them cook in the sauce for another 15 minutes.
Serve the meatballs in tomato sauce with fries or boiled potatoes. Personally, I prefer fries, which absorb the tomato sauce perfectly and give the whole dish the right flavour.
