Delicious meatballs with potatoes
Meatballs with potatoes are a classic of Spanish cuisine. They are simple to make, but it is a dish that needs time to get the meatballs juicy and the potatoes tender. In my house, it has been a recipe that has always been present at our table. My mother has the secret to get very tasty meatballs in sauce. I recommend making the recipe with time and love, since haste is not a good ally in the kitchen.
Ingredients
- 500 grams Of pork and beef minced meat
- 2 larger potatoes
- 1 onion
- 1 egg
- 2 clove garlic
- Fresh parsley
- 1 glass of white wine
- 2 slices Of bread from the previous day

First, soak the bread slices in the milk until they are soft. This is a trick my mother used to use to make the meatballs soft. I assure you that the result will be excellent.
In a bowl, mix the minced meat with the soaked bread, egg, chopped garlic cloves, chopped parsley, salt and pepper. The amount of garlic and parsley depends on each person's taste, but I personally like to taste it.
Roll the meat mixture into small balls and roll them in flour. Make sure they are well coated, but without excess flour. It is important to make the meatballs of medium size, so that they cook properly.
In a frying pan with olive oil, fry the meatballs until golden brown. They do not need to be completely cooked inside, as they will be cooked with the potato sauce.
In the same pan, sauté the chopped onion until transparent. This is the base for the sauce, and it is important to cook it well so that it does not taste raw.
Add the peeled and diced potatoes of the same size. This ensures that they cook evenly and at the same time.
After a few minutes, add the white wine to flavor the sauce. Let the alcohol evaporate before adding water.
Add the meatballs to the pan and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender. If you see that they run out of liquid, you can add water.
Once ready, let stand for a few minutes before serving. Meatballs with potatoes are always tastier if you let them rest for a while. In addition, it gives them time to absorb all the flavor of the sauce.
