Directions
How do you make waffle batter? First, mix the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl. I recommend mixing everything very well so that there are no lumps at the end.
In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and melted butter. I have found that it is better to let the butter cool slightly before adding it to the other liquid ingredients to prevent the eggs from \boiling\.
Now add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well. But don't stir too much - a few small lumps are fine and ensure that the waffles are nice and fluffy.
Leave the dough to rest for about 5 minutes. During this time, heat the waffle iron and grease it lightly.
Bake the waffle batter in the waffle iron until the waffles are golden brown. Each waffle usually takes about 4-5 minutes, but this can vary depending on the waffle iron.
And the best waffles are ready! They taste great with powdered sugar, maple syrup, fresh fruit or simply on their own.
