Tasty Cinnamon Cookies

I love making these cinnamon cookies especially during the holiday season. The scent of cinnamon that invades my kitchen is simply irresistible and always fills me with a warm, homey feeling. I have been making them for years and they are always a big hit on my dessert table. The soft texture inside and crunchy outside is a delight to the palate.

Directions

80 min.
1. Step

First, preheat your oven to 180°C and prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper. I think it is essential to have all our tools well prepared before starting, the work will go much more smoothly.

2. Step

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. It is crucial to sift these dry ingredients together to ensure that they are well combined and no lumps remain.

3. Step

In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy, usually about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer. Here, patience is key. You should beat until the texture is really smooth, this will make your cookies more palatable.

4. Step

Add the egg and vanilla to the butter and sugar mixture. It is important that the egg is at room temperature, as it will allow a better integration with the other ingredients.

5. Step

Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, beating until completely integrated. Do not rush, adding the dry ingredients little by little will help homogenize the dough better.

6. Step

Form the dough into balls about 3 cm in diameter and place them on the baking sheets. Don't forget to leave space between each one, as they will expand during baking.

7. Step

Bake for about 12-15 minutes, until lightly browned. My advice here is to always keep an eye on your cookies during the last few minutes, as every oven is different and you don't want them to burn.

8. Step

Let your cookies cool on the trays for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to finish cooling. This will help you avoid crumbled cookies.

9. Step

Once completely cooled, you can sprinkle a little sugar on top if you wish. Adding this finishing touch will make your cookies look and taste even better.
