Simple Homemade Fresh Strawberry Syrup
Enjoy a homemade strawberry syrup that is rich in flavor and loaded with natural sweetness. This syrup is perfect for flavoring your ice cream, pancakes, waffles, and even cocktails. It contains only three ingredients, making it simple, quick and easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh & ripe strawberries
- 1 Cup crystal sugar
- 1 Cup water

Directions
Begin by washing, hulling, and slicing the strawberries.
In a large saucepan, combine all the strawberries, sugar, and water.
Bring the ingredients to boil over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Once it is boiling, allow it to simmer on a reduced heat for about 20 minutes. You will notice the syrup will thicken and turn a bit more reddish.
Remove your pan from heat, and let your mixture cool down for sometime.
Press through a fine mesh sieve into another dish, discarding the remaining strawberries.
Finally, pour your syrup into a storage container and refrigerate. It will become thicker as it cools.
