Simple Goosefoot Cake
The goosefoot cake is a Hungarian pastry, named after its layers cut in the shape of a goose's foot. This simple recipe describes every step in detail so that you too can make this delicious sweet at home.
Ingredients
Dough
- 250 g flour
- 100 g butter
- 100 g sugar
- 1 pc egg
- 1 package baking powder
Filling
- 500 g apple
- 1 package vanilla sugar
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions
First, prepare the ingredients. Wash the apple, remove the core, and then grate it. Mix the flour with the baking powder.
We combine the butter with the sugar. Add the egg, then gradually sprinkle in the flour mixed with baking powder. We knead everything together, then divide it into two equal parts.
We roll out one part and then put it into the baking tin. We pile the grated apple on it, sprinkle it with cinnamon and vanilla sugar.
We also roll out the other part of the dough, cut it into a goose foot shape, then place it on the apple layer.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 40-45 minutes.
Once it has cooled, we serve it sprinkled with powdered sugar.
