For the Fish
- 4 fillets firm white fish
- 6 oz plain flour
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
- 1⁄2 Juice of lemon
- 8 floz of cold beer
For the Chips
- Large potatoes (cut into chips)
- salt and pepper

In a pan heat oil and gently fry the potato chips on a low flame for 5- 7 minutes, take out and then let them rest on a paper towel. Continue with frying the fish and once done, fry the chips again in the same oil till crispy and golden brown.

In a bowl, add flour, bicarbonate soda, salt, ground black pepper and beer while stirring continuously, lemon juice and whisk into a batter.

In a plate take some flour, salt, ground pepper and coat the fish with the flour properly. Then dip the flour-coated fish in the batter.

Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the coated fish in it.
