Recipe for Old-Fashioned Apple Crumble Pie
Apple crumble is a classic dessert that combines the crispness of apples with a sweet and buttery crumb topping. This warm dessert is perfect for the fall season, and can be enjoyed on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- 6 apples
- 1 Cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Cup rolled oats
- 1 Cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1⁄2 Cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Preheat oven to 175°C.
Peel and slice the apples. Layer into a baking dish.
Combine the flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Pour the melted butter and vanilla extract into the dry mixture. Stir until the ingredients are thoroughly combined and the mixture crumbs.
Spread the crumb mixture evenly over the sliced apples in the dish. Gently press it down to cover the apples completely.
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until the top is brown and the apples are tender.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the apple crumble warm as is, or add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top for extra indulgence.
