This recipe is a typical Mexican candy made with pinto beans. It is easy, nutritious and delicious.

- 250 g cooked pinto beans
- 500 ml milk
- 250 g refined sugar
- 2 tablespoon vanilla essence
- 4 tablespoon rum
- brandy or cognac
- 300 g chopped nuts
- Dried corn husks for tamales (optional for wrapping)

1. Step
Grind the beans with milk, sugar, vanilla extract and rum until fully incorporated.
2. Step
Strain and place in a non-stick pan.
3. Step
Cook over medium heat for a minimum of 1 hour or until the texture is a mouldable, delicate and consistent paste.
4. Step
Remove from heat and place on waxed paper to cool.
5. Step
Shape into balls of the desired size, roll in chopped nuts or form cylinders with chopped nuts
6. Step
Wrap in corn husks and enjoy this typical Mexican candy.
