Easy Balkan Grilled Beef Sausages Cevapi
Cevapi is a delicious, grilled dish of minced meat, a type of kebab, popular in the Balkans, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro. It's incredibly tasty, eaten with flatbread and often garnished with diced onions, sour cream, kajmak, ajvar, and cottage cheese.
Ingredients
- 500 gms of ground beef
- 500 gms of ground lamb
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- Flatbread, for serving
- Sour cream, kajmak or ajvar and diced onions for garnishing

Directions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground lamb, minced garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and baking soda.
Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined.
Take about a tablespoon of the meat mixture, and using your hands, form it into a small, sausage-like shape. Repeat this process until all the mixture is used.
Place the cevapi on a plate, cover, and refrigerate for an hour for the flavors to blend.
Preheat your grill to medium heat then grill the cevapi until they are brown and cooked through, which usually takes about 4-5 minutes per side.
Serve the cevapi in flatbread, garnished with diced onions and a dollop of sour cream, kajmak, or ajvar.
