Classic Spaghetti Carbonara
A traditional pasta dish that is creamy, spicy, and has an umami flavor from crispy bacon and Parmesan cheese. This classic spaghetti carbonara recipe is perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1 Package spaghetti
- 8 oz bacon, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 egg Yolks
- 1⁄2 Cup parmesan
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, for garnish

Cook spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water and drain the rest.
In a large skillet cook over bacon until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside. Add garlic and pepper flakes to the skillet and stir occasionally, for 1 minute.
Mix whisked eggs and Parmesan cheese until well combined.
Reduce heat to low and add spaghetti to skillet. Toss spaghetti with garlic and bacon grease until well coated. Pour the egg mixture over the spaghetti, stirring constantly, until thespaghetti is coated in the sauce.
Add water, a tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
Add crispy bacon and mix well. Season with salt and black pepper according to taste.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
