Classic Savoy Cabbage Rolls
A delicacy from German cuisine, savoy cabbage rolls are savoy cabbage leaves filled with ground meat, simmered in a tasty broth. They are perfect for a cozy family meal.
Ingredients
Filling
- 500 g minced meat
- 1 Piece onion, finely chopped
- 1 finely chopped Garlic clove
- 1 TL salt
- 1⁄2 TL pepper
For the roulades
- 8 Piece Savoy cabbage leaves
- 2 tbsp butter
- 500 ml beef broth

To prepare the savoy cabbage rolls, start by making the filling by mixing the minced meat with the onion, garlic, salt and pepper.
Blanch the savoy cabbage leaves in boiling water for a few minutes until they are soft.
Place a generous amount of filling on each savoy cabbage leaf and roll it up tightly. Make sure the end of the leaf is at the bottom to prevent the filling from leaking out.
Melt the butter in a large pan and fry the roulades on all sides until they are lightly browned.
Pour the beef broth into the pan and let the roulades simmer in it until they are well done, about 30 minutes.
Serve the savoy cabbage rolls hot, accompanied by mashed potatoes or rice.
