Christmas chocolate panettone cake
Traditional Italian chocolate Christmas panettone cake. It takes a little longer to prepare because of the rising, but the result is worth it.
Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 100 g Of crystalline sugar
- 150 g butter
- 200 ml milk
- 50 g yeast
- pinch of salt
- 200 g Chocolates
- 2 a piece Eggs
- 100 g ground nuts
- Pinch of cardamom
- 1⁄2 spoons cinnamon
- lemon peel
- orange peel

Directions
First prepare the sourdough starter. Add yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar and a pinch of flour to the milk. Mix well and leave to rise for 10 minutes.
Put the flour in a large bowl, add the sourdough starter, remaining sugar, melted butter, eggs, grated lemon and orange zest, cardamom and cinnamon. Mix the mixture and knead the dough. You should know that even if the dough seems sticky, don't panic. After some time, set it aside and let it rise for an hour or so until it arrives.
Meanwhile, chop the chocolate and nuts into small pieces. Add the chocolate and nuts to the batter and knead again.
Put the dough into the panettone mould and leave to rise for about 30 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40 minutes.
