Brussels Sprouts Stew
A warming and nutritious Brussels sprouts stew, perfect for cold winter days. This stew is a simple meal prepared with fresh Brussels sprouts, potatoes, and diced ham.
Ingredients
- 500 g Brussels sprouts
- 300 g Potatoes
- 200 g diced ham
- 1 Piece onion
- 2 Spoon olive oil
- 11⁄2 l chicken stock cube
- 1⁄2 TL ground nutmeg
- 2 Bunch thyme
- 1 Pinch salt and pepper
- 1 medium carrot

Directions
1. To prepare the Brussels sprouts stew, first prepare the Brussels sprouts and potatoes: Clean the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half. Peel the potatoes and carrots and cut them into small cubes.
2. Fry the onion and ham: Peel the onion and finely dice it. Heat the olive oil in a large pot and fry the diced onion and ham in it.
3. Add vegetables: Add the Brussels sprouts, carrot, and potatoes to the pot and sauté lightly.
Deglaze with broth: Pour the broth into the pot and bring it to a boil. Add the thyme and the nutmeg and season with salt and pepper.
5. Let it simmer: Let the stew simmer for about 30 minutes, until the Brussels sprouts and potatoes are soft.
6. Serving: Taste the Brussels sprouts stew and season as needed. Serve hot and enjoy.
