Best ever apple crumble recipe

Ingredients
For the crumble topping
- 1 Cup self-rising flour
- 0.3 Cup sugar* 1 tablespoon
- 1⁄2 Cup butter cold and cut into small pieces
- 0.3 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 0.3 teaspoon nutmeg
- half Lemon zest a lemon
- pinch of salt
For the apples
- 5 apples cored and sliced
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 0.3 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄2 Lemon juiced
- 0.3 Cup milk

Directions
Position an oven rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.
Transfer all the ingredients for the apples, except the milk, into a small pot and heat on medium low. This will allow the apples to start the steam and soften. About 5-7mins. Then transfer into your baking dish and add the milk
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cinnamon,nutmeg, lemon zest, and salt for the topping. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, gently work in the cold butter until bread crumb texture is formed.
Pour crumble topping over the apples in the baking dish, and spread out into an even layer.
Bake for about 45-50 minutes till golden
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or custard
