Walnut jam cake
This cake has always been on the holiday table in our family, and I continue the tradition. It is more important than anything that the quality of the nuts is the best, and although the recipe is not complicated, it does require some attention to achieve the best results.
Ingredients
- 15 dkg ground nuts
- 20 dkg sugar
- 3 egg whites
- 15 dkg flour
- 15 dkg peach compote
- pinch of salt

Directions
Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff. Add the sugar little by little and continue to whisk.
Mix the ground nuts with the flour, then add this mixture to the beaten egg whites.
Line a baking tray with baking paper, then pour the cake base into it and spread a thin layer of peach jam.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, then place the pan in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes. It is good when the top is golden brown.
When ready, remove from the preheated oven and leave to cool.
Cut the cooled cookies into cubes and serve them on festive occasions, but also on weekdays, for breakfast or as an after-lunch dessert.
