The best and easiest biryani recipe
Biryani is a rice dish from Pakistani and Turkish cuisine made with a mixture of spices as well as basmati rice, meat/vegetables and yoghurt. There are many varieties of biryani and each type has its own unique characteristics..
Ingredients
- 700 g basmati rice
- 1 kg chicken
- 4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 11⁄2 teaspoon Chilli Powder
- 2 teaspoon curry powder
- 2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 5 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoon yoghurt
- 3 bay leaf
- 2 star anise
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 5 cloves garlic
- 6 cardamin
- 11⁄2 tablespoon ginger paste
- 3 tablespoon ghee
- 380 g onion
- 11⁄2 tablespoon Garlic paste
- 10 green chicken
- 6 dried plum

Directions
Wash the rice and soak in water for at least 1 hour before cooking
Season the chicken with salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, curry powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, vegetable oil and yogurt.
Set aside the seasoned chicken for at least one hour before cooking.
In a saucepan, add the ghee, onion, ginger paste, garlic paste, salt, green chicken and dried plum. Cook and stir.
Add the seasoned chicken and cook.
Make the biryani layers by putting ghee, a layer of rice, a layer of chicken bhuna and another layer of rice. Top using the remaining bhuna sauce & coriander
Foil the top to keep steam locked into steam
Cover the preparation with fresh coriander. Cook the rice for 30 mins on low heat and leave 30 mins to rest before mixing.
