Tarte Tatin
Tarte Tatin is, for my taste, one of the most delicious apple pies ever. The preparation is so simple, it can be handled by a beginner or an experienced cook.
Ingredients
- 6 pcs Big apples
- 150 g sugar
- 125 g butter
- 300 g puff pastry
- A pinch of cinnamon

Directions
Start by preheating the oven to 180 degrees. I always take a pot that can go in the oven and on the stove at the same time and melt the butter in it with the sugar. After a while the caramel starts to form and that's when I add the peeled apples cut into quarters. Don't forget to brush the apple quarters with lemon juice so they don't brown. The apples must not be few so that they form a thick enough layer when baked.
I then place the rolled out puff pastry on top of the caramelized apples. I press the edges of the pastry to the apple layer and place in the oven. I bake the pie for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.
When the cake is done, I take it out of the oven and let it cool for a while. Then I flip it onto a plate and it's done. Tarte Tatin not only looks great, it tastes great. The dough is crispy and the apple filling beautifully sweet
