Recipe for Traditional Shrove Tuesday Pancakes
How to make easy pancakes for Shrove Tuesday, with traditional toppings like lemon & sugar. Or add your own twist!
Ingredients
- 110 g plain flour
- 200 ml milk
- 75 ml water
- 50 g butter
- 2 large eggs
- lemons
- sugar

Directions
Pour the milk, water and eggs into the flour. Mix, until there are no lumps in the batter. Melt the better, and add 2 tbsps of it to the pancake batter. Set the remaining butter aside.

Dip a paper towel in the remaining butter, and wipe your pan with it. Heat up your pan on medium heat. For a very thin pancake, use about 2 to 3 tbsps of batter. Pour the batter onto the pan, spreading it around the whole area.

After about only 30 seconds, flip the pancake. Keep cooking for another 30 seconds. The pancakes should be very light brown on each side. Grease your pan after every pancake with the paper towel dipped in butter.

On top of a cooked pancake, sprinkle sugar and drizzle with lemon juice. Or add any other toppings of your choice. Roll or fold up your pancake, and enjoy!
