Halloween biscuits
A fun and easy recipe for making and decorating Halloween biscuits for kids.
Ingredients
PASTRY DOUGH
- 125 g butter at room temperature
- 120 g powdered sugar
- 1 cdta vanilla essence
- 210 g self-rising flour
- 1⁄2 cdta salt
ON THE FIELD
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 5 g Egg whites powder
- 30 ml water

Directions
In a bowl, let the butter soften at room temperature. Add the sugar through a sieve to avoid lumps. Stir well.

Add the vanilla extract and stir until a creamy mass forms. Now add the flour and salt and stir until the mixture comes together to form a dough.
Place the dough between two pieces of baking paper and roll it out to a maximum thickness of 4 mm. Put it in the fridge for about 30 minutes to firm up.

Use cookie cutters to cut out rounds and place them on baking paper. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes at 170 °C. Let them cool while you prepare the icing. Handle the biscuits carefully, they are very fragile and tend to break while they are hot.

Mix the icing sugar with the egg whites.

Add water and mix to a creamy consistency.

Divide the frosting (or make more in several bowls) into several parts and use gel paint to colour it to the colour of your choice (orange, purple, green, black, red...).

To decorate, first use edible markers and draw the desired pattern on the biscuits.

Then first apply the base colour and spread it well over the biscuit to remove any bubbles.
