Easy homemade Christmas Gingerbread men recipe

Ingredients
- 780 g self-rising flour
- 10 g baking soda
- 224 g unsalted butter
- 200 g brown sugar
- 4 spoon ground ginger
- 4 spoon cinnamon
- 11⁄2 spoon ground cloves
- 1 spoon ground pepper
- 1 spoon salt
- 2 egg
- 210 g molasses
- Glaze

Directions
Add the baking powder and baking soda to the flour. Mix and set aside.

Put the unsalted butter in the mixer bowl together with the brown sugar. Knead with the flat blade until both ingredients are well integrated.

Add ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, ground pepper and salt. Mix until all the spices are well integrated.

Add the eggs and molasses or cane honey. Mix again until well blended.

Add the reserved flour. Add the sifted flour in 3 batches. After each batch, mix once more until well blended.

Sprinkle a little flour on the work surface and turn the dough out. Form a block and cut it in two. Shape each block into a ball. Wrap in cling film and put in the fridge for 1 hour.

After this time, stretch the ball with the help of a rolling pin. Split it in two and roll out the dough.

Cut the dough with the gingerbread man moulds and place the biscuits on parchment paper. Chill the biscuits for 15 minutes in the fridge.

Preheat the oven to 175 °C. Bake the biscuits for 12 minutes. Once baked let them cool completely on a wire rack.

Decorate the biscuits with glaze by outlining the arms and legs with a white colour in a zig-zag pattern. Paint the eyes and the mouth, as well as the bow tie and the buttons. Use the colours of your choice and enjoy!
