Easy Garlic Butter Rice
Garlic Rice is a simple yet flavorful dish that is perfect to serve as a side dish for any Asian or Mexican main entrée. It’s a fuss-free recipe that requires simple ingredients but delivers a punch of robust garlic taste.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup long-grain rice (Basmati or Jasmine)
- 2 cups water
- 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tbls olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tbls chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Directions
Rinse the rice under cool water until the water runs clear. This helps to get rid of excess starch and stops the rice from being clumpy.
In a medium-sized saucepan, heat the oil and butter over medium heat.
Add the finely chopped garlic and sauté until lightly golden brown.
Add the rinsed rice and stir to combine with the garlic. Continue stirring for another 2-3 minutes to lightly toast the rice.
Pour in water, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
Cover the saucepan and reduce the heat to low. Let the rice cook for about 15 minutes without uncovering the saucepan.
After 15 minutes, turn off the heat. Let the rice sit for another 5 minutes with the lid still on.
Remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
