Delicious Homemade Vegetarian Sausage Hot Dogs
These Vegetarian Hot Dogs are a delicious alternative to traditional meat-based hot dogs. They are made using simple, plant-based ingredients, and are perfect for a quick and easy mid-week dinner or a summer grill. Rich in protein and full of flavor, these hot dogs are sure to be a crowd pleaser even among non-vegetarians.
Ingredients
For the Vegetarian Hot Dogs:
- 4 Vegetarian Sausages
- 4 hot dog buns
- 2 tbls olive oil
For the Toppings:
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 Tomato, thinly sliced
- 4 Pickles, thinly sliced
- Mustard Sauce, to taste
- Ketchup, to taste
- Vegan Mayonnaise, to taste
- Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions
First, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the vegetarian sausages and cook them until they are golden brown on each side, approximately 5 minutes per side.
While the sausages are cooking, prepare your toppings. Slice your onion, tomato and pickles, set them aside.
Once the sausages are cooked, remove them from the skillet and set them aside to cool slightly.
Assemble your hot dogs by cutting a slit in each bun (but not all the way through) and placing a sausage inside. Top with sliced onions, tomatoes, pickles, mustard, ketchup, and vegan mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
Serve your Vegetarian Hot Dogs immediately with a side of potato chips or a fresh salad.
