Christmas Tree Cakes
These adorable, festive Christmas Tree Cakes are perfect for your holiday gatherings. They are not only easy to make but also taste fantastic with a vanilla sponge base and a vivid green frosting with decorative edible ornaments.
Ingredients

- 200 gms all-purpose flour
- 200 gms sugar
- 200 gms unsalted butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- 200 gms icing sugar
- 100 gms unsalted butter
- 2 tbls milk
- 1 teaspoon green food coloring

- 50 gms edible glitter
- 100 gms assorted candies

Directions
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with baking paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, mix well.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking tray and smooth the top with a knife. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
To prepare the frosting, beat the butter until creamy. Add the icing sugar and milk and beat until fluffy. Stir in the green food coloring until you reach the desired shade.
Cut the cooled cake into triangle shapes to resemble trees. Frost each tree with the green frosting. Decorate with the assorted candies and sprinkle with edible glitter.
Serve your Christmas Tree Cakes immediately, or store in an airtight container until ready to eat.
