Directions
To make the children's chocolate liqueur, first break the children's chocolate into smaller pieces. This ensures that they melt more easily in the pot later and helps to achieve a smooth end result.
Put the milk, cream and vanilla sugar in a pan and heat up. It doesn't need to boil, just be hot enough to melt the chocolate. I recommend stirring constantly to make sure the mixture doesn't burn - this has proved extremely useful in my kitchen!
As soon as it is warm enough, add the children's chocolate pieces and melt over a low heat, stirring constantly. It is important to be patient here and make sure that all the chocolate is completely melted, otherwise the liqueur may become lumpy.
Once the chocolate has completely melted, remove the pan from the heat and leave to cool slightly. Then stir in the vodka very slowly. Wait until the mixture is completely cold before bottling - this prevents the alcohol from evaporating.
Now the children's chocolate liqueur just needs to be put in the fridge for a few hours, ideally overnight. It will keep there for at least two weeks, but let's be honest, it probably won't last that long!
