Directions
Place the eggs in a small saucepan. Fill it with enough water to cover them. Put on heat and bring it to a boil.
Once the water starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the eggs simmer for about 4-5 minutes for a runny yolk, or 6-7 minutes for slightly firm but still soft yolk. Adjust according to your preference.
While the eggs are boiling, toast the bread slices until they are crispy. Once toasted, butter them if you'd like, then slice them into thin strips which are traditionally known as \soldiers\4. After the eggs are done, remove them from heat and place them into an egg cup.
Using a knife, cut off the top of the boiled egg to expose the yolk which will be perfect for dipping.
Season the egg with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the eggs with the toast soldiers around them.
