Best Homemade Deep-Fried Cheese Slices

Ingredients
- 8 slices of thick cheese (Mozzarella, Fontina or Gouda)
- 1 Cup flour
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups of bread crumbs
- 4 cups of oil, for frying
- 1 teaspoon of oregano (optional)
- salt and black pepper to taste

Cut the cheese into thick slices, approximately half an inch each.
Sprinkle the slices with oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Put flour, beaten eggs, and bread crumbs in separate shallow dishes.
Roll each cheese slice in flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, ensuring they are fully covered.
Coat the cheese slices thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
In a large deep skillet, heat 4 cups of oil over medium heat.
When the oil is hot, add cheese slices and fry until they turn golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
