Basque rice cake recipe
This is a typical dessert from the Basque Country, but especially from the Bilbao area. Despite its name, it does not contain a single grain of rice. Learn how to cook it following this recipe.
Ingredients
- 6 egg
- 250 g sugar
- 250 g self-rising flour
- 150 g butter
- 1 l milk
- 1 sheet of puff pastry

Directions
Place the whole eggs and sugar in a bowl. Whisk together.

Add the melted butter. Mix.

Add the previously sifted flour. Mix well until it is well combined.

Pour the milk into this mixture. Mix everything together until the milk is integrated.

Line a baking tin with a sheet of puff pastry and pour all the mixture into it.

Then, place in the oven previously heated to 180 °C and bake for 50 minutes. Remove from the oven, leave to cool completely and unmould.
