Basic Creamy White Sauce for Lasagna
This creamy and flavorful white sauce is perfect for any lasagna recipe. Made from scratch with simple ingredients, it adds richness and flavor to the dish. Layer it between lasagna, vegetables and meat for a delicious and comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 4 tbls unsalted butter
- 4 tbls all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 Cup parmesan
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Once the butter has melted, add the flour to create a roux. Stir continuously until the flour is well incorporated and smooth.
Gradually pour in the milk, constantly stirring to prevent any lumps from forming.
Continue whisking and bring to a gentle boil. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
Reduce the heat and add grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until cheese has completely melted into the sauce.
Season the sauce with salt, ground black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well. Serve with lasagna and enjoy!
