Yolk Slices

Eggs undoubtedly symbolize rebirth during the Easter holidays. One of the most famous egg-based cakes is the yolk slice. I prepared it in a slightly modified design. We bake the slices in a round form with a diameter of 22 cm.

Whisk the butter with powdered sugar until it is frothy, add nuts, rum and flour mixed with baking powder. Finally, incorporate the whipped egg whites. Bake in a round pan with a diameter of 22 cm, with its edges greased with fat and the bottom lined with baking paper. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for at least 25 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the icing by whipping the egg yolks with powdered sugar and vanilla paste. After baking, pour it on top of the still hot cake and let it harden. Finally, decorate with chocolate and almond flakes.
