Directions
Start by preparing your fruits. Ensuring that they are ripe will naturally enhance the sweetness of the smoothie, eliminating the need for too much additional sweetener.
Take out your blender and add the ripe mango, pineapple chunks, banana, and peeled fresh ginger to the blender jug. Ginger tends to be a powerful flavor, so remember, a little goes a long way. You can choose to add this or not - totally up to your preference.
Pour in the unsweetened almond milk. If you're out of almond milk, any non-dairy milk options, like soy or oat milk, works too. Using non-dairy milk makes this smoothie lighter, but you can use regular milk if that's your preference.
If you want your smoothie a bit sweeter, now's the time to add in your sweetener. Honey is my go-to because of its health benefits, but feel free to omit this step if your fruits are sweet enough.
Add a handful of ice cubes. The ice helps in achieving a smooth, thick, and cold smoothie - my idea of perfect smoothie consistency.
Blend everything together until smooth. If your smoothie is too thick, add more almond milk; if too thin, add more fruits or ice. The trick is to adjust to your taste.
Once you're happy with the consistency and taste, pour it into two glasses and serve immediately. No fancy garnish needed - just a straw and a sunny spot to sit while you enjoy your tropical smoothie.
